4GB Free Video Hosting from Microsoft

Youtube competitor will come this falls under the company’s Windows Live services brand. Microsoft® Silverlight™ Streaming by Windows Live™ is a companion service for Silverlight that makes it easier for developers and designers to deliver and scale rich media as part of their Silverlight applications. Silverlight Streaming by Windows Live includes storage space of 4GB, and users can upload video segments up to 10 minutes in length.
Streams can be DVD quality. During the beta phase, the service will be completely free, although the final release of Silverlight Streaming will be limited to 1 million minutes of streamed video. Still, Goldfarb claims it will be “free forever.”

I think Microsoft very difficult to win with Youtube, because currently youtube still the most popular vide hosting.
