I always use real time bandwidth monitoring software when i connected to the internet. Measuring your internet speed is one of important thing because you can keep your computer secure from unknown internet connection. Other features of this software are audio notification, customize graph type, auto start and report for your total bandwidth is offered. But, this software consumes your computer memory. It also requires Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 or above.
   
2. NetMeter - Netmeter use simple GUI, the features of this software
   is similar with other bandwidth monitoring software. The features are daily, weekly or monthly reports for your bandwidth, customize your graph, traffic volume notification.The pros of this software is use little memory and don’t net Microsoft .NET Framework.
   
3. NET Traffic Meter - NET Traffic Meter allows you to monitor your network traffic and to gather statistics in order to control and analyze your network environment. You can get advanced alerts to notify you on specific events (download, upload, volume, time…) (larger then, smaller then,…) with audio and visual messages, stopwatch features, fully customizable tool: Connection profiles, many configuration options, dynamic mouse events. Sadly, this software development has been abandoned , but you can still download at NET Traffic Meter Website. This software also requires Microsoft .NET framework
   
4. Axence NetTools - It comes with many comprehensive tools than others. You can get graphical MultiPing with a history of response time and packets lost (for monitoring the availability of your hosts). It also consists of other tools like trace, lookup, and port/network scanner. With those many tools the file size is a little big and can consume more computer memory.
   
5. Aldo´s NET Monitor- In my opinion, this software is the smallest bandwidth monitoring software. The size of this software is less than 100KB and not consumes your computer memory. With this small file, you can get many feature from this software, but it is very useful if you need a simple bandwidth monitoring software.
