Beyond TV Placeshifts Beyond Your TV
Beyond TV is SnapStream Media’s app for Window’s to record and pause live TV on a PC. It also does things that TiVo could only dream about, such as data compression. Well, TiVo has one more thing to worry about with the latest beta version of Beyond TV.
There are a few things that set BeyondTV apart from similar PC-based PVR software like SageTV and MythTV. For example it has a built-in “showsqueeze” feature that lets you automatically re-encode recordings using DiVX or Windows Media video codecs. Using Microsoft’s Silverlight, you can log into your online account to see the list of programs you’ve recorded. Click the “Placeshift” button in the options menu and Beyond TV does the rest.
