Blogged.com steps into the Real Time age
Blogged.com is a blog directory that attempts to combine social networking with people’s interests in blogging. Its goal is to help blog authors connect with their audience and to allow readers to discover new and interesting blogs in the directory. Traditional blog search sites such as Technorati and Google Blog Search offer users a method of searching through individual blog entries or postings, but not the blog website itself. Blooged uses method called crowdsourcing, allows users to vote on the importance of articles and causes those articles which are most popular to rise to the top. It is is being used by Blogged to utilize user feedback to gauge the importance of various blogs.
Blogged.com first went live in late February with more than 200,000 blogs in its database; that’s a very respectable number. There are about twenty different categories ranging from Art and Education to Humor and Government. Each blog is listed with a short description, rating (based on frequency of posts, design, style and relevance of content), and the latest posts from the blog feed.
Blogged is adding a real-time commenting feature, which is similar in theory to JS-Kit’s Echo product. The site provides users a platform to find the ratings and feedback on blogs in numerous categories and the entire work is done by humans instead of some algorithm. The introduction of real time function to the site is to enhance user experience with comments made real time plus the inclusion of live chat.
