Busuu.com seems to offer more than some of the many other social networking sites for language learning. Busuu.com is a web 2.0 startup company based in Madrid, Spain. Busuu is a free online community for people interested in learning or improving languages. The site consists of a community area where users can go to ask questions they are having about the language they are learning and get answers from other members of the community. The site currently supports English, French, German and Spanish and the founders of Busuu plan to add more languages as quickly as they are able. It uses  picture based learning material covering a wide range of topics from “in the restaurant” to “the first date” (including basic vocabularies, sample dialogues, tests, etc). The lessons are divided into three levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. Each lesson has a photo/audio component along with writing practice, native speaker exchange and a review test. You can keep a track record of your studies as you complete them. All lessons are free and can be completed at anytime, letting you choose your study schedule and mark your own progress. The site also has a “talk” area which allows members to find natives and speak with them through an integrated video/chat feature.
