YouTube announced yesterday that it had increased the size limit for videos to 1 GB, and also introduced new software that allows users to simultaneously upload multiple videos.

If you’ve ever watched a feature film on YouTube, you know that files are broken up into increments and compressed severely. The new multi-upload application seems ideally suited for the purpose of putting such longer-form media on the site.

Google Video, YouTube’s “big brother” that offers non-flash videos for download, has a similar setup already in place. Files 100 MB and smaller are uploadable through a web form, while larger files and batch uploads through a desktop application. The Google Video uploader supports not only Windows, but Mac and Linux as well.

Mozilla Corp. will rush another version of Firefox to users as early as next week, the company’s user interface designer said Tuesday, to fix five bugs it introduced in last Wednesday’s security update. Firefox 2.0.0.8 patched ten vulnerabilities, including three critical flaws, but also shipped with five regression bugs — problems unintentionally introduced when code was changed to plug other holes. “Most users won’t see any difference or experience any problems,” said Mike Beltzner of Mozilla in a posting to the company’s development center blog. “We’re working fast to understand and fix these problems, and will shortly be issuing a 2.0.0.9 update to address them.”

There is no many info from mashable about this. Attempting to access the site from Beijing gives you a “connection reset” error, which has become the SOP for blocked sites in China.

Last week a really interesting film was released in India titled “Apna Aasman.” This particular film revolves around the theme of science and technology and the basic premise on which this particular film is based is how far you would be willing to go to make a genius out of your child.

Starring Shobhna and Irrfan khan the film explores the anguish of parents who are perfectly normal in every respect whose child is autistic.
