Opera Software has released a updated beta version of its Opera Mobile browser for Windows Mobile devices. These new Beta should mean that we will see the final Opera Mobile 9.5 release as soon as December of this year if all goes well. Opera Mobile v9.5 beta 2  offers a rich browsing experience with the ability to automatically scroll around, pan and zoom into specific areas with the tap of a finger. In addition to the finger optimized controls, the software provides a full screen mode and multiple browser tabs. This new version promises a “smoother ride” and improved page loading times. It also adds support for Opera Widgets and improved developer tools. At the same time, Opera has released an updated Opera Widgets SDK that now includes a developer version of Opera Widgets for Symbian S60.

This is the first mobile release to support Opera’s Widget platform, which allows users to install cross-platform, user-made add-ons to the browser. Right out of the box, 9.5b2 offers up widgets for AccuWeather, a clock, Twitter, a shopping list, and “Bubbles”, a funky little Tetris clone. Opera Mobile v9.5 beta 2 is currently freely available for download. The current version is compatible with Windows Mobile 5 and 6 devices with a touchscreen. This latest beta shows that it will be not easy for Firefox Mobile or Skyfire to go against Opera in the mobile arena.
