Final version of Windows Search 4.0 has been released
Windows Search 4.0 was released this afternoon. This release focuses on performance and reliability improvements. Windows Search 4.0 is a new version of Windows Search, which is well worth getting if you have Vista because it’s much faster than the built-in Vista search. WS4 helps you find and preview documents, e-mail messages, music files, photos, and other items on the computer. For your bundle of documents and media files on your PC, that index file can take up a few gigabytes, Windows Search cuts that time down to seconds by constantly indexing every file on your desktop. WS4 has been extended for remote index discovery, or famous as PC-to-PC searches, which allows data to be searched quickly and efficiently across machines running Windows Search 4.0. What does it means? Now, it means that Windows Vista-to-Windows XP or Windows Vista-to-Windows Server 2008 queries are now possible. Windows Search 4.0 includes a number of bug fixes, allows you to index encrypted files.Tired of Windows Search thrashing your hard drive in XP or Vista? Upgrade to Windows Search 4.0, the final version, today.
