Firefox, Safari and IE7 Speed Test

Apple want to join browser competition with new safari 3. Apple CEO Steve Jobs touted Safari 3’s speed as one of its most appealing features. Wired people has tested and compared the safari browser with other three browsers.

This test measured download times for the following test cases:
* Time to download the login page for Google Mail
* Time from login until the Google Mail index page appeared, with 50 messages, and all graphics and message status indicators
* Time to launch Google Calendar and display two subscribed calendars

This is the result
Firefox, Safari and IE7 Speed Test

The results show that Safari is slower than both IE 7 and Firefox in the login page and message index tests, in both cases by a substantial margin. Only when loading Google Calendar does Safari have a slight edge, clocking in at 12.8 seconds to IE’s 17 seconds. But even there, Firefox has both the other browsers beat.

    To whom it may concern:
I am curious to what kind of speed dial I can sign up for. I have dial up and live in the woods. Any company I have asked about DSL says I can’t get it because I can not get cable at my house. My uncle told me about a system MSN has that I could sign up for and get speed dial even where I live. My phone company I have internet through said it would cost me $90 per month for me to have the equipment I need for them to supply me with DSL. Do you have any suggestions or solutions to my problem. I am in college and the degree I am working for I can work from home, but I don’t want to put in 8 hours a day and get paid for 4. Any reccomindations would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You,
