1. Google Docs Data Validation
Do you want to suggest or control what people enter in your spreadsheet? Google Docs Data Validation will alow you to use the new data validation feature in spreadsheets. You can access data validation feature from Tools menu in the Google docs spreadsheets. They have also enabled mobile access through list view, which is pretty nifty if you spreadsheet from your iPhone. It can also be set up to provide instructions that pop up as soon as someone starts entering data–similar to what’s available in Google Docs’ form tool and in Microsoft Excel. Both options can be set inside of the data validator that shows up once you’ve selected a cell or range of cells. Sadly, you can only apply one validation rule per cell, and the editor does not allow you to add multiple validation elements at the same time.

2. Google Spreadsheets Adds Mobile Editing.
The Google Docs team has added editing capabilities to Google Spreadsheets from popular phones. For you who have a G1, iPhone, iPod Touch, or Nokia S60 phone, you can not only just brows through your spreadsheets, but actually edit them as well – though with some rather annoying limitations.Once users have loaded a Spreadsheets document on a phone, rows can be altered through links, and columns can be organized through overlay screens. Moreover, users can share their spreadsheets with anyone, so multiple people can work on a budget together. At the same time from different locations, as an example a mother can work on a shared budget with college-age kids while others can share their their spreadsheets with their financial planners or accountants.
3. Google PowerMeter: Provide Real-Time Home Energy Information
Google offers a free web service, called PowerMeter, that displays real-time information about home energy consumption on your computer which could help households reduce consumption by as much as 15 percent, the company said. The application, which lives as a widget on iGoogle, communicates with the nation’s 40 million smart meters, and shows consumers their home energy information almost in real time on their computer screens. For instance, the meter could “signal” to the dishwasher that it’s cheaper for the dishwasher to run in the morning rather than at night. Or, it could tell the customer that he or she could save money by running the appliance at a different time. Google hopes to introduce PowerMeter publicly within the next few months, according to The Times.
4. Gog.is Shortens Google Search URLs for Easy Sharing
Web application Gog.is takes complicated Google search URLs and simplifies them down into a descriptive, short format. Gog.is is simple and useful to send Google searches as short URLs via IM or twitter where you don’t want to send the long URL. You just need to add your search keyword after http://Gog.is/ and the URL will take you to the required Google search query page. Multiple keywords can be separated by a comma (,) or a plus sign (+).
5. Google mobile tasks for iPod
Google rolled out a new mobile version of Tasks designed to allow users of the iPod Touch/iPhone and Android devices to manage their tasks on the go. The interface is elegantly simple, allowing you to quickly add tasks and notes, and mark items complete. Setup is simple. First, log into your Gmail account and click “Settings.” From there, click “Labs” and then the “Enable” button next to “Tasks.” As Jeff Goldblum said, “There’s no step three.” You’ll see a link to Tasks in the left sidebar of your Gmail account. Now grab your iPhone and point Mobile Safari to http://gmail.com/tasks. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll see the tasks you created on your Mac.

6. Add Google Search and AdSense to Your Mobile Website
Google is extending that functionality to the mobile Web, where publishers can now integrate Google search and earn money on the revenue generated from clicks on mobile ads. AdSense for mobile search is a way for mobile network operators and mobile website owners to embed a Google search box on their mobile portals and web sites. The company is currently looking for beta testers – the application can be found here. Search results pages are hosted by Google, and these pages can be customized with your logo, and custom footer links.
7. Google Latitude
Today Google launched a free new application called Latitude, which shows you the real-time location of your friends on a map—as long as they’ve agreed to broadcast their location with you via their cell phone. Mobile users can now grab the latest version of Google Maps for their handheld devices which offers the new Latitude feature. To protect privacy, Google specifically requires people to sign up for the service. Latitude is tightly linked in with Google Talk and e-mail applications so you can quickly get in touch with people after seeing where they are on the map. Latitude is part of the Google Maps 3.0 software update, and will initially only be available on BlackBerry mobile phones and those devices running the Windows Mobile and Symbian S60 operating systems.
8. Offline Gmail 0.2 for Offline Attachments
Gmail Labs’ adjusted Offline Gmail to be Offline Gmail 0.2. . It feature allows users to specify a maximum attachment size that should be downloaded for offline access. With Gmail0.2 version of Offline, users will be able to control the size of attachments that are downloaded and stored on their machines. Your options range from 10KB to 5MB in size. You also can set Gmail Offline so that it won’t download attachments at all if you want to save on disk space or all attachments if you’ve got plenty of space. Remember, the maximum attachment size in Gmail is currently 20MB.)
9. Multiple Inboxes Lab
Google introduced the Multiple Inboxes Lab, which works for both @ gmail.com and Google Apps addresses. Multiple Inboxes allows users to have multiple viewing panes open simultaneously without having to open another browser window. The default view shows your main in-box, plus a set of your starred items and your e-mail drafts. Using Google’s search modifiers, you can set it up to filter up to five separate in-boxes to show pretty much anything you want. The upgrade gives users a quick view at important labels as well as saved searches.
10. NewsShow Put Google News on Your Web Page
NewsShow Wizard is a new tool which lets publishers create and embed targeted Google News stories on their websites. This wizard forms an integral part of the Google Ajax Search API’s “NewsShow” feature and it lets publishers pick search terms (which Google is dubbing “search expressions”) and search topic (sports, health ..etc.) and some design modifications to the widget. you can specify what topics to publish on the widget with the selected picked search terms. Like Google AdSense, you embed the code in your blog. Sizes ranges in 728×90 and 300×250 pixels for now.
