Google will start charging for extra storage!

Until now we all were using the Gmail gigs of storage without any hassle, but Microsoft’s recent release of the SkyDrive, which is an online storage, Google also announced its going to charge extra for more storage on two of its services, that is Google Mail(Gmail) and Picasa.

The prices are starting at 20$ a year for extra 6Gb storage over the normal 2.8 gb for Gmail and 1 Gb for Picasa.

Other plans which provide an extra 25Gb ranges for 75$ annually, and 100gb for 250$ and a whopping 250gb for 500$.

In March, Yahoo! Inc had announced that it had given Yahoo Mail users unlimited storage, however they did flag users they felt were using the account solely for file storing purposes rather than Emails.

Google on the other hand encourages people to store files and images, but when we exceed the limits, ofcourse we have to pay.
