Apple has released iTunes 7.7. on Thursday. This latest version of iTunes is required for the iPhone 3G, Firmware 2.0, App Store and MobileMe. It is available in your Mac OS X Software Update at this time. Apple is expected to also released the 2.0 Firmware and App Store shortly, as well as launching MobileMe.

This version of iTunes also adds support for the new Remote application for the iPhone and iPod touch, available on the App Store, which allows those devices to control iTunes remotely. You can control the music on iTunes or Apple TV, see the album artwork on your remote, search your iTunes library and control your AirTunes speakers.

Of course, you also have the normal functionality of a remote including play, pause, skip and shuffle. According to Apple remote works over Wi-Fi, so you can control your music anywhere in your house.
