Nexty: a GTD-Focused, Web-Based To-Do List
Nexty presents an easy to use To-Do list manager created in PHP by using Getting Things Done (GTD) principles to organize your tasks. It can be installed on a local server or on an online Web server. Using it you can employ a calendar in order to set everything down and be reminded when specific dates loom near. You will also be capable of focusing on specific tasks, one at a time.
Nexty’s user interface is clean, with a three column layout – Projects and Due Today on the left, your Stuff to Do in the center and a Search box and Context tab on the right. Nexty is free to use, and site registration is quick and painless. If you want to host Nexty on your own server, knock yourself out — the open source codebase is available for anyone who wants to take or improve it.
Adding a Task is straightforward – you hit the “New Task” link and input the name of your task, the desired Project to file it under, a Description of the task, its Due Date, any associated URLs, a Context and what type of Task it is (Immediate, Someday/Maybe, etc). A simple and streamlined tool to manage tasks will put it to good use.
