PayPal browser plugin
PayPal is an e-commerce business allowing payments and money transfers to be made through the Internet. Based in Luxembourg also as European, PayPal serves as an electronic alternative to traditional paper methods such as cheques and money orders. PayPal promises a prompt and secure way to pay for goods on eBay, Half.com, or other sites that accept the service. PayPal has created a service last year that allow you to possess a single-user credit card number that is linked to your PayPal’s account. Currently, it released a plugin that gives users to access easily to the Secure Card service in their web browser. For installing PayPall plugin is by logging into your PayPal account and select PlayPal Plug-in from the menu on the left. There will be a 5MB file to download which will be for both Internet Explorer and Firefox. Note that the plugin is Windows only, and does not seem to play well with Firefox 3 yet. Once installed, a window should pop up whenever you visit a site asking for your credit card information. Generating a card manually through a drop down menu can be done also.
If you’re using Mac, Linux, or Firefox 3, you can still use the secure card feature by logging into your PayPal account and generating a card number. Anyway, you’d better to use the browser plugin because it makes the process more simple.
