Its holiday season and you are searching online for the perfect gift for your loved ones – but sadly traditional search engines might not be your best option. Now PicClick, a website is a new visual search tool that looks to improve this process, offering a thumbnail view of dozens of items for a given search. Instead of scrolling through long and rather linear pages of search results you can quickly scan over a whole page of results with the price, image, and with eBay auctions the time left. You specify keywords, minimum and maximum price, zip code for proximity, and the size of the thumbnails, which is adjustable with a slider.
The main page itself is split into a series of categories that group together the relevant products. By way of example, these include “Computers & Networking”, “Entertainment Memorabilia” and “Health & Beauty”. Besides, there is a system in place for sorting out highest to lowest prices.
