Trillian 3.1.11 Versatile multi-IM chat program
Sometimes it seems that instant messaging drives people further apart rather than bringing them closer. If you use AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), you can’t communicate with MSN Messenger or Yahoo Messenger, for example, and vice versa. Trillian is a proprietary multiprotocol instant messaging application for Windows created by Cerulean Studios that can connect to multiple IM services, such as AIM, ICQ, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, Bonjour, Jabber, and Skype networks. Version 3.1 adds a new identity feature that helps you organize your home and work contact lists, HTML editing for AIM profiles, UPnP support, enhanced IRC performance, and speed enhancements.
The interface is simple but effective, consisting of a main window containing all contacts and icons for each compatible messenger, and various icons to create away messages and a global connection (all IM accounts) and organise contacts. In order to communicate with users on these IMs it’s necessary to have accounts with the appropriate ones. If you already have accounts these can be entered during set up and all existing contacts will be imported into Trillian’s address book.If you don’t yet have accounts, Trillian can connect you to the registration page for each messenger. The interface is simple but effective, consisting of a main window containing all contacts and icons for each compatible messenger, and various icons to create away messages and a global connection (all IM accounts) and organise contacts.
