VideoPlaza:targets Swedish market
VideoPlaza is an online video advertising startup based in Stockholm, Sweden. VideoPlaza was founded in August 2007 by three entrepreneurs eager to make online video profitable, both for advertisers and publishers. VideoPlaza constitutes a developer of a stand-alone online video advertising solution. The solution functions by allowing producers of online video content to embed interactive features directly into the video which viewers can click on to receive additional information. Instead of working like traditional ads, where the program stops for a few minutes, these ads run congruently with the ongoing show. Kanal 5, their first customer, turned their web tv service profitable very quickly using the VidePlaza ad platform. AlarmClock reported VideoPlaza has summed up an investment worth €420,000 from Venture Capital firm Creandum. The participating angels included Henrik Torstensson (VP Business Development at Stardoll) and Magnus Hultman. There are three Swedish companies already lined up as partners to VideoPlaza to provide them wit technology. The plans for VideoPlaza are to capitalize on their online advertisement and make it big in the Swedish market, the present investment is deemed at gearing up for pulling it big on the online ads and enforcing enough credibility within the home market before they move out of borders.
